How much does a second-hand piano cost?
Whether you’re buying new or used, all pianos are different, so when it comes to buying a second-hand model, it is difficult to give an exact price.
Typically, the price of a used piano will be determined by an experienced piano appraiser who will decide its market value by factoring in what other sellers are charging, depreciation and the cost of any required restoration.
If you are buying from a reputable seller, they often have carried out any repairs required in-house and will provide a guarantee with their work.
Generally, you will find that used grand pianos tend to be more expensive than used uprights, but if you would like a better idea of the competitive prices available, feel free to visit our second-hand pianos page, where we have all of our currently available models with their prices.
What are the benefits of buying a second-hand piano?
Although many people write off used pianos, we believe that with a little love, care and maintenance, they can sound just as good as a newer model – if not better! There are many reasons why purchasing a second-hand piano will often benefit you more, some of which we’ve listed here.
Budget-friendly
If you want an unbeatable touch, feel and look that you only get with a real piano but have a budget, second-hand pianos are the best option. You might end up paying a fraction of what a new model costs, and often you won’t be able to tell the difference. There are a number of pianos from world-renowned brands pianos available second-hand; you just have to look!
Good value
Unless you have a one-of-a-kind, incredibly sought-after piano, you will find that pianos tend to depreciate in value over the years. So, by buying a used piano, you won’t have to worry about losing money, particularly if it is regularly tuned and maintained. If you do eventually go to sell it, you might be pleasantly surprised at how much it is worth.
Five-year guarantee
It’s a common misconception that you can only get a guarantee on a new piano, but at Markson Pianos that is simply not the case.
We are confident in the rigorous testing and assessments that all of our second-hand models go through in our workshop. As a result, the majority of our pianos come with a five-year guarantee. That means if you have any issues, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to arrange an appointment to fix the problem.
We understand that even used pianos are a big investment, and we want to give our customers the confidence that they are buying a high-quality product.
Extensive selection
One of the main reasons we love our selection of used pianos is the ever-changing variety of styles, finishes and models you’ll find. There are different shapes, sizes, stains and even wood colours for you the browse, from dark mahogany to white gloss. Newer models may have a modern appeal, but used pianos have an undeniable character.
We regularly source more pianos for customers to choose from, and with such an eclectic mix of stunning instruments, you’re bound to find something that stands out. It definitely makes the buying experience that bit more exciting!
