The optional Yamaha SH2 ‘Silent’ piano system allow the player to completely cut off the acoustic resonance of the instrument, whilst keeping the touch and feel of the piano keyboard. The sound is relayed to the player by means of very sophisticated sampling technology, through headphones. These systems are not intrusive or harm the original characteristics of the piano in anyway and once turned off, the instrument will sound exactly like one without the system fitted.
